Immediate full time entry level Network Technician position available for a motivated individual in the Garden City, NY area. Come join our growing IT team! We are a fast-paced, high-growth medical services organization, focusing on positive results and accomplishing goals. This position involves local travel within the region, up to 30%. Salary commensurate with experience. The ideal candidate will have excellent communications and interpersonal skills. Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and either, an AS in Computer Science or a related field or two years experience maintaining a LAN are required.
Job Requirements:
------------------------------
2+ years of direct end-user support experience.
2+ years of TCP/IP networking experience.
2+ years experience with Microsoft Exchange 2003 (or beyond) including administration and account configuration.
2+ years experience supporting Microsoft Windows XP in an Active Directory environment, including familiarity with NTFS security and file permissions.
2+ years troubleshooting network printers, faxes and associated hardware.
Working knowledge of Point-to-Point VPN connections is desired.
Experience with Sonicwall VPN Devices is a plus.
Microsoft or CompTia certifications are a plus.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
--------------------------------------------------------
Provide end-user support for system applications, hardware and printing environment.
Physical installation of servers and network equipment at primary sites and remote locations.
Physical installation of client PCs and peripheral equipment at primary sites and remote locations.
Troubleshoot and diagnose issues in systems, network devices and applications.
Systems maintenance tasks including managing software installations, log maintenance and applying patches. Ability to learn new or unfamiliar technologies and products, using documentation and online resources.
Strong focus on organization, and attention to detail.
Tasks will be performed under general supervision and the candidate is expected to exercise independent judgment and initiative.
