DESCRIPTION
Staff Consultants are responsible for supporting a team of experienced senior marketers. Our projects are focused on driving substantial and measureable lift in the online businesses of the world’s top companies. Staff Consultants analyze and summarize a client’s unique business and customer goals, suggest test ideas, and support the creation of an Optimization Roadmap designed to drive positive ROI within 6 weeks. Staff Consultants help to manage a team of designers and developers to execute on the Optimization Roadmap. Must be very comfortable functioning in both marketing and technical roles.
Staff Consultant is a mid-level marketing role also requiring an intermediate technical skill-set. This position includes all of the following aspects:
• Manage projects to keep them on schedule and within scope. Must be able to manage a team to a set number of hours.
• Quickly incorporate constructive criticism around wireframing, creative production, and customer communication skills.
• Gain an in-depth knowledge of a client’s website architecture, online business model, and customer goals. Document these findings in a concise and error-free presentation.
• Analyze large and detailed, yet incomplete, data sets in order to make recommendations around follow-up tests.
• Analyze data from automated behavioral targeting engine in order to make recommendations around how to improve the algorithmic modeling.
• Build detailed wireframes and manage their creative production in order to accomplish testing goals while adhering to customer’s style guides. Manage a team ensuring creative is turned into test where all appropriate metrics are tracked properly.
• Manage development teams to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, ensure proper content display, validate data, and properly manipulate JavaScript, XHTML and CSS.
• Work on multiple projects, with multiple remote teams, at one time.
• Interact frequently with clients via phone, email, and in-person.
• Create technical page-tagging strategies.
• Manage test setup and QA alongside Development Team.
• Create first drafts of data analysis, business analysis, customer analysis, wireframes, and test plans.
• Create and present results, learnings and recommendations from tests.
• Provide regular status updates and quickly escalate potential issues to Optimization Managers.
• Validate and debug implementations and follow through on issues until resolved.
• Communicate constantly with customers and Managers throughout the project lifecycle and provide regular status updates.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience presenting in front of large groups. Must be very comfortable in a client-facing role.
• 2+ years experience in online marketing, user experience, and/or user interface design.
• 2+ years creating wireframes and managing design comp creation.
• You must have a passion for the web, online marketing and creating good user experiences.
• Very strong presentation building skills (PowerPoint or Keynote).
• Solid understanding of online marketing and web analytics.
• Solid understanding of client and server-side programming languages, database management and APIs.
• Intermediate JavaScript, CSS and XHTML.
• Embrace data and quantitative results – not afraid of basic statistics. You must love data.
• Extremely detail-oriented.
• Excellent note-taking skills.
• Must be self-motivated, responsive, and dedicated to customer success.
• Possess an innovative, problem-solving, and solutions-oriented mindset.
• Exceptional organizational, presentation, and communication skills – both verbal and written.
• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, be a team player, and manage change effectively.
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office. Must love Excel and data manipulation.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION GIVEN FOR:
• Management experience.
• Experience running A/B, multivariate and/or behavioral targeting tests.
• Previous experience working with the Omniture Suite of products (SiteCatalyst, Test&Target, etc.).
• Experience with observational customer research (listening labs, usability, eye tracking, etc.).
• Experience with Photoshop, PHP and/or ROR.
