) was conceived when our founders noticed that their peers had little access to simple and credible financial planning. Denied access to traditional financial advisers, people in their twenties and thirties have neither the time nor the expertise for effective do-it-yourself financial management. As a result, misguided financial decisions and poor timing cost young adults billions of dollars annually.
Newly a member of the Tree.com family, we are changing how people in their twenties and thirties deal with their money. We have retained our dynamic start-up energy while flexing our new-found Tree.com muscle; rapidly designing and developing new features and products for our ballooning user base. We`re currently seeking engineers who are ready to build a personal-finance killer app.

More about the type of person we`re looking for. You have:
* A broad knowledge and expertise in many different areas of computer science and mathematics
* Excellent problem solving skills
* Excellent communication and organization
* A passion for your work and for building great teams
* A desire to wear many hats and tackle a wide range of problems
* You will design, build, and deliver large-scale, highly dynamic website experiences in a team environment. You will own major deliverables and all aspects of the development cycle: scoping, design, implementation, testing, etc. You will get a chance to exercise your judgment in determining and recommending the best designs based on business objectives, time lines and resource constraints.
Your engineering chops include:
* Strong knowledge of OO practices
* Solid server-side Java experience. We use Open Source Java technologies such as JBoss Seam, Hibernate, and Drools.
* Experience with dynamic web UIs: Javascript, Richfaces, JQuery, Ajax4JSF etc
* Experience in designing and deploying a functionally complex web service that scales
* Experience implementing algorithms and rule based systems is a plus
* Experience in database design and SQL; PostgreSQL a plus
* Significant development experience in a Unix/Linux environment
* Knowledge of session management, object relational mapping, XML web services, and agile development methodologies desired
* Ability to work in a fast development environment with an iterative process (We work through ideas quickly)
