Senior Purchasing/Planning Manager
Analyze Company sales history to discover trends for various customer and product types
Understand and possess experience in working with:
- Production lead times
- Bill of Materials purchasing and various stages
- Traffic and Logistics with various component purchasing
- Purchase Orders, Receiving Postings, Inventory Controls, Discrepancy Analysis
- Gross Profit Margin targets
- Seasonal Peaks/Valleys and costs associated with shipping late/past season
- Maximizing shipping windows of opportunity to supplement sales with additional reorders
Coordinate with Various Departments to analyze inventory flow:
- Production Buyer to place purchase orders
- Management to discuss strategies, budgets and terms for purchase availability
- Sales Department to review and forecast Sales and needed inventory
- Product Development to locate new sources of components
Ability to perform within specific budgets designated for projects
Maintain component inventory at various stages – components, assembly, in transit etc
Prepare purchasing plans for upcoming customer sales needs
Maintain “Buffer Stock” to make sure that orders can be fulfilled while additional stock is made
Bring together component shipments with assembly factories eliminating finished good delays
Ability to keep projects and costs on track and dispute additional subsequent charges
Proven track record in same/similar industry as Manager in Purchasing/Planning Role required
Possess experience, knowledge, ideas and ability to develop strategies and resolutions
