Prior art refers to the entire body of publicly available information that can potentially invalidate a patent by showing that its ideas were known by the date of invention of the patent. Invalidating prior art shows that an invention described in the claims of a patent existed before a date of invention. Prior art can also be used to establish the strength of a patent.
The Studies list patents with a description of the technology and the historic date.
