Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center is a world renowned organization
dedicated to the progressive control and cure of cancer through programs of
patient care, research, and education.
The Genomics Core Laboratory (GCL) is the Microarray Core Facility of MSKCC. Our
specialty is the processing of very small samples for the Affymetrix array
(laser capture microdissected tissues or cells, fine needle aspiration samples,
core biopsies, FAC-sorted cells).
We are a full-service facility providing services in two categories: RNA
analysis (extraction, microarray, and Q-PCR) and DNA analysis (DNA extraction,
CGH, CpG and SNP array, Q-PCR).
Under general direction assist in planning and conducting research activities in
a multi-user core genomics laboratory using such techniques as: plasmid
purification, nucleic acid isolation, microbiology techniques, cDNA synthesis,
non-isotopic labeling and probes detection and nucleic acid hybridization. Take
responsibility for experimental procedures.
REQUIREMENTS:
BA/BS degree in biological or natural science and 3 to 5 years of experience
or MS and 1 to 3 years of research experience.
