At least 5 years relevant post graduate experience.
Thorough understanding of structural design principles
Experienced in the detailed design of highway structures (Bridges, retaining walls, and*or cut and cover*immersed tube tunnels)
Awareness of highway design requirements (alignment, drainage etc)
Preparation of Approval in Principle documents
Both concrete and steelwork design
Work with contractors on Design and Build projects
Use of Eurocodes and other international design standards
Familiar with all industry standard software design packages (eg MS Office, AutoCAD, Sam Leap, LUSAS)
Civil Engineering related Degree, BEng level minimum, or equivalent, e.g. HNC.
Chartered, or currently pursuing chartership (ICE or IStructE).
MEng level degree
Clean UK driving license
Good team player within a multi-disciplinary environment, but able to work on own initiative and under pressure when necessary.
Good communicator at all levels, both verbally and in writing
Accuracy and attention to detail
Willing to learn and develop
Proficient in discussing technical issues in non-technical language.
Dealing with Clients.
Financially aware.
Ability to recognise new business opportunities.
