Deputy Site Manager
Person The person required for this position shall have a prime requirement experience in controlling labour on a similar premises and will require a first class knowledge of the operation and maintenance of the Plant and Equipment involved and which is the subject of this Agreement The Person will also require thorough understanding of the nature of Reuters operations and business, with an appreciation of the potential losses that could be caused by failure of Plant and Equipment.
In addition to his*her technical expertise, a sound knowledge of general management principles and in particular, the capability to motivate and control the specialised labour force. Notwithstanding the foregoing the person is to have a thorough grounding in both mechanical and electrical building services engineering, and be in possession of a certificate of competency in the 16th Edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations.
Specific Requirements The duties will include but not be limited to the following: Ensure all Clients and subcontract staff conduct maintenance activities correctly and in accordance with all statutory Health & Safety, local site procedures. Ensure maintenance activities are completed within agreed timescales. Liaise with client representatives with respect to maintenance and repair activities, when necessary. Prepare Permit-to-Work forms for issue to Client and subcontract staff. Carry out isolation of plant and systems in accordance with site safety regulations. Conduct quality checks on completed works. Keep management informed of all plant failures that affect the site operation. Monitor the BMS for running and alarm conditions. Optimise the use of staff in response to repair requests. Coordinate all staff in response to emergencies during normal hours in accordance with site procedures. Undertake maintenance tasks as necessary. Maintain a record of all activities conducted during normal working hours. Maintain a record of all subcontractor visits to site. Record all defects found as a result of maintenance activities. In addition to the above duties, the Second in Command will be expected to undertake all reasonable tasks as directed by the Site Manager.
