Project Manager, (Drug Delivery), Cambridge
Managing challenging and often complex product design and development projects for clients in the Medical Devices industry, primarily drug delivery devices. The role will also include working with the Industry Business Leaders in our Healthcare Business Unit to develop new relationships with prospective clients, expand our existing relationships and identify new business opportunities.
The Project Management Group manages projects in two focus areas for the Healthcare Business Unit:
Drug delivery devices Clinical diagnostics and instrumentation Members of the group also contribute to projects as technical contributors or, depending on experience, technical reviewers Managing product development projects in drug delivery, particularly in Inhalation, but likely to include Injection and Infusion.
This position involves managing development projects with exposure to all aspects of development from contract negotiation to final delivery. You will be involved in proposal preparation, selection of the team, negotiations with 3rd parties, managing concept generation, analysis of system architectures subsystems, liaison across engineering disciplines and the specification and design of experimental programmes with teams of scientists and technicians. You will have contact with clients at an early stage, defining work programmes, holding workshops and giving presentations. You will manage projects requiring delivery within tight timescales and budgets, managing both internal and external resources.
The role will require interaction with teams within the Healthcare Business Unit and across our client?s broad technical base, which includes:
Electrical and electronic engineering Mechanical engineering Physics and optics Product design Software Informatics Regulatory affairs Manufacturing technology Process automation Life sciences Good degree in engineering. A minimum of five years industrial experience working in product design and development in drug delivery. Project management experience essential. Experience in design for high volume manufacture is highly desirable. Experience in managing multi-disciplinary projects (software, electronics, mechanics, physics, chemistry) very desirable.
